John M. O'Brien (Jay) is the Managing and Tax Compliance Partner of
the Firm. He has 33 years of
experience in public accounting and holds a Masters degree in
Taxation. Mr. O’Brien was a tax partner in an international accounting firm
until forming this firm in 1991. He
is involved in many complex tax issues including corporate reorganizations,
entity structure, mergers and acquisitions, multi-state taxation and cross
border transactions. In addition, he
is involved in litigation support, business valuation and general business
consulting services. Mr. O’Brien is a graduate of Western New England College with a BSBA
in Accounting and received his Masters Degree in Taxation from the
University of Hartford. He is
accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in
business valuation. Mr. O’Brien is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. He is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society
of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysis. Mr. O’Brien is a member of the Board of Trustees of Western New
England College and Law School and the former Chairman of the Board, a
member of the Board of Trustees of Baystate Health and Chairman of its
Audit & Compliance Committee, Board Member of the Springfield Library
and Museums Association and also serves on the board of advisors to several
closely held businesses.
